This is a paragraph area where you can add your own text. Just click “Edit Text” or double click here to add your own content and make changes to the font. It's a great place to tell a story about your business and let users know more about you.

Our trust in news project is the only project in New Zealand that maps trust in news with internationally comparable data.

JMAD produced its first Trust in News in Aotearoa New Zealand report in 2020.

Since then we have conducted six surveys about trust in news and news brands

in New Zealand. The latest report was published on April 13, 2025.

We conduct our reports in collaboration with the Reuters Institute of Study of

Journalism (University of Oxford). Our research is internally funded and it has

ethical approval from the AUT Ethics committee.

The annual report is co-authored by Dr Merja Myllylahti and Dr Greg Treadwell.
